Ripple, Crackle and BOOM!!

Have you ever wanted to re-create massive impacts, so strong that they warp the world around them? Have you wanted to make a water effect on screen for your 2D project but was unable to get a ripple effect on demand and where you wanted it. Well! Want no more, for I have created an easy to use Ripple effect assetpack.

How do I use it?

Import the asset, ensure that you have the 2D URP up and running and then it's as simple as replacing the main cam with the prefab. You're able to experiment with the ripple effect in the test scene to make it just to your liking, with each value being able to be tweaked and changed. 

Q & A

If I move the camera, do the ripples move with it?

By default yes, I've bound them to world space. If you'd rather they stick to the camera, you can go into the code, find where the comment says "Active world space tracking" and comment it out. 

Can I have multiple ripples at the same time?

No. I'm sorry, but I haven't been able to figure that out without causing major issues. 

How do I actually make ripples?

In any script, you're able to find the BoomEffect script, and call .Boom(position). This will give a default ripple effect at the world position you passed in. If you want to have more control over it you can do .Boom(position, speed, magnitude, size). 

What's the difference between Magnitude and Size?

Magnitude effects how much the texture is distorted, while size effects the ring size that gets distorted. 

I don't want to pay for this. Can I have it for free?

If you don't want to pay for it, you can take a look at the resources which I used to make it and do it yourself. I spend a couple of hours fernagling everything to work so I felt like charging for my struggle was worth at least 1.50
